Following are the national rules for peanuts and pistacio, used for Interscale '99.
Scale model is a miniature of a heavier-than-air airplane, which carried at least one man. Model must be built by the competitor.
Peanut [Pistacio] is scale model driven by rubber band(s) with maximum wingspan of 13”(330mm) [8"(203mm)] or maximum length (not counting the propeller) of 9"(229mm) [6"(152mm)].
Each competitor can use one or two different models in each category during the competition. Only better result obtained by those models in each category is counted for evaluation.
Competitor can have one assistent for the competition. For multiengine models additional assistant is allowed.
The organizer will assign at least two judges for the static points awarding according to point table,
Item | Points |
---|---|
1. Shape similarity, side view | 10 |
2. Shape similarity, front view | 10 |
3. Shape similarity, ground view | 10 |
4. Design similarity, surface closeness | 15 |
5. Colors and markings:completeness and correspondence | 10 |
6. Colors and markings:complexity | 10 |
7. Details | 15 |
8. Craftmanship, overall appearence | 20 |
Building evaluation total S (max = 100) |
Every competitor has the right for three competition flights with two attempts for each model. The longest flight is counted for flight evaluation. Model is hand launched or starts from the ground. Ground start is awarded with extra 5 sec, if the model started by itself with no help from the competitor.
Time measurement starts at the moment of hand launch or when the model actually gets into the air when ground started. Measurement ends at the moment when model touches the ground floor.
Notes:
Note: If the part of the model was dropped during the second attempt, the time up to this moment is taken into account.

Penalization total | N = sum Ni = |
Flight points for Peanuts [Pistacia] are calculated from following formulae:
Peanuts | Pistacia | |
where:
L[sec] – time of longest flight
Points from static evaluation 2.2. and points from flight evaluation 3.6. are summed up:
T = S + F
Competitor with highest number of points wins. In the case when two competitors obtain the same number of points the flight result determines the final order.
